Annual dues for 2023-24: $170 for new Scouts, $145 for returning Scouts (from Pack 994 or another Pack).  There are fundraising opportunities to offset costs. Please talk to us if there is a hardship, as we never want finances to keep a family out of Scouting.

THE PACK

The Pack is made up of Dens, which are groups of boys and/or girls, usually in the same grade as that of your child. At this time, Pack 994 is a boys’ only Pack, but if you have a daughter interested in Cub Scouting, we will gladly direct you to a co-ed/ family Pack in our area.  Cub Scouts who join a Pack are assigned to Dens based on age: Lion Scouts (kindergarten), Tiger Scouts (first grade), Wolf Scouts (second grade), Bear Scouts (third grade),  Webelos Scouts (fourth grade), and Arrow of Light (fifth grade).

Pack 994 Den meetings are held on Mondays at Hillside Church, usually at 7:00pm.  The specific den meeting schedule is set at the discretion of the individual adult den leaders.  Den meetings include various activities, games, handicrafts, hikes, and other outdoor fun to complete achievements and prepare for the next Pack Meeting.

The Pack meets once a month, providing a program for Cub Scouts, leaders, parents, and other family members attending.  The pack is led by a Cubmaster with one or more assistant Cubmasters.  Unless previously announced, our Pack meetings are the last Monday of every month at Hillside Church at 7:00pm.

Additional activities operated by the Pack for the enjoyment of Scouts and their families are generally include Pinewood Derby, LEGO Derby, Raingutter Regatta, Spring and Fall Campouts, Winter Trip and the Blue & Gold Banquet.

The Pack is run by the registered BSA Adult Leaders of the Pack who make up the Pack Committee, which includes a Committee Chair, Secretary, Treasurer, Event Coordinators, Awards Coordinators, Den Leaders, Assistant Den Leaders, and others.  Our committee meetings are held each month and are open to all parents of a Cub Scout in Pack 994; these meetings are typically the 2nd Thursday of each month.  All Scout parents are welcomed and encouraged to become a Committee Member.  The Pack Committee plans the Pack programs and activities and manages record keeping, finance, leadership recruitment and registration. The Pack Trainer is responsible for ensuring that all of the pack leaders are trained and for maintaining training records.

Pack 994 is in the Appalachian Trail District, one of 13 Districts belonging to the Atlanta Area Council. Collectively, we are Cub Scouts, and are members of the National organization, Scouts BSA.
